Change and configure the Communication Method to send request emails manually or automatically.
What is Automatic Mode?
If you are set to Automatic Mode, once a new customer email has been added into GatherUp the feedback request will go out right away. If the customer does not respond a reminder email will be sent after X amount of days. Reminder emails can be configured and turned off if desired within the Email Template settings screen.
To protect your business from being flagged as Review Spam, GatherUp will send a maximum of 5 new customer emails per day by default. If more than 5 new customer email addresses are added in one day, GatherUp will keep track of added customers and send requests over the next few days until all customers have been sent a request.
The amount of daily emails can be adjusted to accommodate your required customer email volume.
What is Manual Mode?
You are in complete control over how many email go out in one day and how often and in what interval you want to follow up with your customers. Please use Manual Mode responsible. Getting 100 reviews in one day and zero reviews the day before and after is the best way for your business to get flagged as Review Spam in all major providers and services such as Google, Facebook etc.
How To Change Your Communication Method
1. Log in to your GatherUp account.
2. If you have multiple locations, select the location that you would like to change the request mode for.
3. In Customer Activity, go to Request Mode and click the down arrow. Select Manually or Automatically from the drop-down to change the communication method for that location.
If you select Automatically, you will need to set the daily maximum emails (1-100) that you would like sent. Contact us if you need a higher daily limit.
Schedule For Sending Requests Using Automatic Mode
In Automatic mode GatherUp will send emails at the next available “cron task” slot after they have been uploaded and processed.
The cron runs at the following times: 4am, 7am, 2pm, 6pm and 10pm (PST timezone)
Example: If you upload a list of customers at 4pm, the email requests will be sent at 6pm. If a list is uploaded at 1am, the emails will go out at 4am.
